What this covers
This policy forms part of the Terms of Service and applies to every plan you buy from Inovo eSIM. It exists because our supply comes from real carriers with real rules, and abuse of a wholesale connection can get an entire route shut down for every customer on it, not just for the person who abused it.
The short version: our plans are for one traveller, using one device, on a trip. Anything that looks like infrastructure rather than travel is not permitted.
What the plans are for
- Personal mobile internet on your own device while you travel.
- Ordinary use: maps, messaging, browsing, email, social media, streaming within your allowance, video calls, ride hailing, and work you would normally do on a phone.
- Occasional tethering to your own laptop or tablet, within your data allowance and where the plan permits it.
What is not permitted
- Resale or redistribution
- Reselling, sublicensing, renting, trading or giving away a plan or an activation code, whether for money or not, and whether to one person or many. Plans are sold to you for your own use.
- SIM boxes and gateways
- Using a plan in a SIM box, GSM gateway, modem bank, router farm, or any device that routes traffic or calls for third parties. This is the single fastest way to get a route terminated by the carrier, and we treat it as immediate grounds for suspension without refund.
- Machine to machine and permanent installation
- Using a travel plan for IoT devices, security cameras, vending machines, telemetry, fixed wireless access, or any permanently installed connection. These plans are priced for travel, not for continuous unattended use.
- Continuous heavy automated traffic
- Running servers, seeding torrents, crypto mining, bulk scraping, sustained peer to peer relaying, or any automated process that generates continuous traffic unrelated to a person actually using a device.
- Commercial redistribution of the connection
- Operating a public or commercial Wi-Fi hotspot from a plan, or sharing a connection with people who are not part of your own travelling party.
- Unlawful activity
- Anything illegal where you are or where our suppliers operate, including fraud, distributing malware, unauthorised access to systems, harassment, distributing child sexual abuse material, or infringing someone else's intellectual property.
- Spam and abuse
- Sending bulk unsolicited messages, running phishing infrastructure, or using the connection to attack, scan or overload anyone else's systems.
- Circumventing our controls
- Creating multiple accounts to evade a suspension or to abuse first order limits or promotional pricing, using stolen payment credentials, falsifying identity, or interfering with the app, our API or our fraud controls.
- Evading local law
- Using our service to breach the law of the country you are in, including where that country restricts foreign eSIMs, encryption or VPN use. Knowing local law is your responsibility.
What we do about it
Our response is proportionate to what we find. In most cases the first step is a message asking you to stop, because most breaches are accidental.
- We may contact you and ask you to stop.
- We may throttle or restrict a connection that is degrading a shared route.
- We may suspend an eSIM, which stops the connection while leaving your account intact.
- We may suspend or close the account, which blocks new purchases while leaving your existing eSIMs and order history visible to you.
- We may refuse future orders.
- We may report activity to a carrier, a supplier or law enforcement where the law requires it or where the conduct is criminal.
For clear infrastructure abuse, such as a SIM box, we act immediately and without warning, because the harm to other customers is immediate. Where we terminate a plan for a breach of this policy, no refund is due.
If you think we got it wrong
Automated abuse detection makes mistakes, and a heavy but entirely legitimate traveller can look like an abuser from the outside. If your account has been restricted and you believe it is an error, write to esim@innovage.io with your account email and what you were actually doing.
A person reviews every appeal. Where we were wrong we reinstate the account promptly, restore or reissue anything that was lost, and tell you what went wrong on our end.
